Migration

Written by ktolis on Friday, 16 of March 2007 at 4:20 am

Well well well. I was working out a bit late this night and got insomniac for a couple of hours past sleeping time, so I decided it’s time to migrate the blog to my domain. It’s mine anyways :)

MacPro.gr

Written by ktolis on Thursday, 2 of November 2006 at 2:09 pm

Last week I was on a trip to Larissa to see my cousin (http://www.giagkos.gr/apostolos) and uncle (http://www.giagkos.gr/antonis) and talked with friends a bit about stuph. I managed to get some work done for my uncle and cousin the other day so they have their gallery and podcasting site up and working as they wanted. They (the sites) still need some work but they have something to work with atm.

I managed to get a skechy layout of my other site. http://www.MacPro.gr. I want it to be a KnowledgeBase site where I can show off the potential of Greek minds regarding mac support. I have some interesting ideas in my mind at the moment and want to make full use of them in the future. I think I finally found my mac platform there and will stick to the original idea I had back in ‘96 when I came back from Germany.

I will try to look into the ads matters regarding my profession for the tax office. I want to straighten things up before I kickstart because bills DO run and I need to get me a new place to stay and a new office soon.  Kmak feels the same and we are now jointly looking for our new offices for Pelekys.

iBook Battery followup

Written by ktolis on Friday, 27 of October 2006 at 9:36 pm

Well as you might have guessed already I finally got my iBook replacement battery back. My aunt got it in Germany last Friday and mailed it to me. I had it on Tuesday already
and got consumed installing it in my iBook ;) . First step was to calibrate it. I used CoconutBattery to get some more details about the battery and it seems to be 4% more juicy than the last one.

Apart from that I got a a new HD too. 100GB Hitachi 7200rpm 8MB cache pata disk. The difference is quite noticable and I think the disk is a bit colder too. I wouln’t say quiter but at least it isn’t draining the battery more than the last one.

How to become the next Gaming Messiah

Written by ktolis on Monday, 9 of October 2006 at 6:07 pm

Get a gip how OpenGL works. Write your first stupid code. See how it works and repeat the procedure under Direct3D/X. Now make a Visual Studio template that directly creates your dummy example as a new “MyNextGenerationUltraYouMustBuyMeFramework”. Modify Visual Studio with a new skin. Present it as the new messiah tool framework and demand money for it. Because people can’t read long words rename it to XNA Express Studio and you are ready.

Of course you could also use Ogre3D which is the same shit but also complete open source’d and runs (in 1.3 at least) under all Windows platforms and all other console systems and on OS X (and linux stfu now). But then you might not be able to charge for it as “your completely uber idea”.

XNA allows me to remember how stupid people can be. I am talking about the consumers in this case.
